Freshman Research
Initiative- research methods Homework #7
Dr. Reichler Fall 2009
Two different guest lecturers will speak to class on
October 26
and 27. In addition to
listening to their lecture, I want you to take an active role in these
lectures by
asking questions of our guest lecturers. It is difficult to ask
questions when you do not know what they will present. So for
homework
#7, I am asking you to develop three
questions you might
ask this presenter. Below is a link to some background
information on the speaker that you can use to develop your
questions. You are free to do some additional research about
them, such as search for their
publications in a database or other search
engines.
The guest for M 10/26 will be Sarah Adai: She works as a
technical writer at Applied Biosystems. (Background
Info)
The guest for T 10/27 will be Dr. Stephen Stout: He is a patent
Attorney working at Vinson & Elkins LLP. (Background Info)
Your three
questions are due the day of the speaker's lecture. Your
assignment should include your name and class time. Next put the
name of the speaker you have developed the questions for. Then
include your three
questions. These homework
assignments must
be printed. (Handwritten assignments will not be accepted.)
Homework #7 is due at the end of lecture on M 10/26 or T 10/27.
