Dr.
Reichler's Bio 311D Spring 2010
Bonus #1 due in class on W 3/10
(This is an optional assignment. If you
choose to not do this assignment, there will be no negative affect on
your course grade.)
Go to the Texas Memorial
Museum, located at 2400 Trinity St. which is just above the "Mustangs"
statue at the corner of 24th and San Jacinto
streets (http://www.utexas.edu/tmm).
On the third floor is the Hall of Texas Wildlife and the first floor
houses the Hall of Paleontology. Choose one of the organisms on
the third floor and one of the organisms on the first floor that you
think are evolutionarily related. Include the scientific name of
the two organisms. Tell me how they are similar and how they are
different. How do you think the organisms are related
evolutionarily? What changes do you think occurred in the
environment that led the organism on the first floor to evolve into the
organism on the third floor? You can include photos and/or
drawings to help make your point. Repeat this for a second set of
organisms.
To help us grade this assignment, please include your name and class at the top of the first page:
